HOMEWORK 6

LEXICAL I TEMS. THE WORD AND THE MEANING IN ENGLISH.

1.-yeti:
The yeti or Abominable Snowman is considered a Cryptozoology and costrued as a giant ape related to the American Bigfoot. Only stories have described him as a giant bipedal ape that is believed to be located in forested areas of the Himalayas.
Example: The yeti scares visitors Himalaya.

2.-mermaid:
The mermaid are fabulous creatures, originating from Greek mithology and widely in the fantastic tales of Western literature. Although in it's original form hybrid creatures were are woman and bird,then the most common representation are described as young women with fish is tail.

Example: The mermaid is very beatiful.

3.-ghost:
The ghost, in the folklore of many cultures, are alleged disembodied spirits or souls that manifest themselves among the living in a perceptible, eg, talking a visible appearance, making souls or smell or moving objects, especially in places frenquented in life, or in partnership with local people. Is one of the known types of superstition.

Example: There's a ghost in the house to side.

4.-guiant squid:
The giant squid, believed a mythical creature, is a squid Architeuthis family, represented by eight species of the genus Architeuthis. They are deep-driving animals, which grow in prodigious size: recent estimates give a maximum of 15 m for males and 17-19 m for females. Although it has been speculated the existence of copies of more than 20 meters lond and half a ton of weight, is not found.
Example: Giant squid live in very deep water and is a huge animal.

5.-hobbits:
A hobby is a activity or interest that is undertaken for pleasure or relaxation in one's spare time.
Example: My hobby is collecting postal stamps.
